Adelaide 2011 Day 5 End of Holiday

Day 5

Time really flies when we are having good time. It is the last day of the five days vacation and we gotta go back. And this time, we are going to stop by Sydney for a transit back to SG. Darling wanna see how Sydney looks like.

Our breakfast, the leftovers, to clear it off. These are turkey leg, lamb chops, scrambled eggs and the pasta salad that we bought on day one. Packing is really sad, cos we really loves it in Adelaide. Especially the cooling weather. We gotta wash up the dishes, dry it and clear as much as we can otherwise there is a surcharge for the housekeeping if it is left in very untidy state.

Sun’s up when we leave and we takes a lot of pictures that the old lady who sits by the couch seems to look at us. Putting the key into the keydrop is really unbearable. Not knowing when will we return back to this wonderful and friendly country of Australia.

And for the first time, we finally get to see the men who keep Adelaide clean spick and span. The road sweeper. Wow, they really work in a great team. One blow the fallen leaves on the path, another blow the leaves from the grass patch to the road and a vacuum truck suck up the dirt on the road. It is a great team work to keep the road really clean. And as usual, we are taking the bus to the city, where we will be connect to the bus that brings us to the airport. On the bus, darling bid farewell to justin as though he was there. Wow. And as the bus roll along, aww… we just so sad.

Waiting for J1

At the city, it is only one bus, J1 or J1A bus. And we gotta wait for a long time, cos the timing is not stated. So we just wait till I gotta let go, so gotta go and find the toilet. Hmm…. It really is hard to find a toilet around there cos the public toilet is far away or probably I dunno where is it. When I returned back to the stop, darling told me the bus just went off hmph. So now gotta wait for the next bus.

The bus ride is a different feeling from when we just got here. It seems long long ride. When we reached the airport, we just take and take photos, and have a final check with bokku. Yup. To make sure we have bokku with us. Else bokku will be lost in Adelaide.

Yup. Bokku is in the luggage. Since we have no one seeing us off, we check in early and have a look inside the airport. And it is fills with vibrant life inside the departure lounge with shops and shops, unlike outside of the departure lounge. Adelaide really wanna leaves something inside us before we went off huh. Darling said she wanna drink hot chocolate. So we stop by a place called cocolat. We have wuite a great experience because the hot chocolate comes with a mashmallow and biscuit. Yum yum. And later while touring inside, we found hungry jack. It looks so much close to the burger king back home. Everything seems to be the same.

Airplane

As we are close to departure time, we walk slowly to the boarding area and saw that the plane that we are taking is a domestic flight, so it is a small plane. It is a one hour flight to Sydney. In the flight there it is, our lunch, so it is said and darling have her sandwich and a small can of coke. It is a small size of what we sees in the market. And I have my pastry and coffee. As we were reaching, the pilot make a circle around the airport so we get to see Sydney twice. There is a beautiful beach with big wave before the airport but we may not know where is it or go and visit there. When we touched down, we walk slowly to the other terminal as we landed at terminal three and have to go to terminal one to get a plane back home. It is already noon when we got there. Along the way, I notice a chocolate shop and found a chocolate piece that is a shape of a cat. Yup yup. Kitty cat. Got two piece from terminal 3 and we continued along the way. When we reached the transit lounge, we have to take a bus supplied by the airport to go to the other terminal. When we reached the terminal one, we saw again, Kitty Cat. And this time, it is much cheaper than the other terminal where we buy it from. Hmph.

On Quantas A380

We were at the departure hall when we noticed that there is an area where there is a chess set and some board games for the people to play while waiting for the plane. Hmm… we have a quick shot and then walked to a shop selling shirts. One of the shirt we saw is the pink shirt with the name Adelaide. Wow. I love it and darling love it too. So we get a pair of the shirt and wear it before boarding the plane back hoime.

While we were on the plane, I felt that there is something different with this plane and looked around. It seems bigger and there seems to have a staircase leading up. After sometime, I realized that WE WERE ON A QUANTAS A380 AIRBUS~! UNBELIVABLE~! I though only SIA have the A380 and we din expect we were arranged on a A380 Quantas. Darling also got quite a surprise too. As I look out the window, it has a very big wing span. Pity the window is too far front so looking out the window is very straining.

We had our dinner and supper onboard throughout the 6 hour journey flight and pity the sunset is not on our side of the cabin. Aww…..

Back Home Sweet Home

When we touched down in Singapore back home, we were so relieve that we were finally back at last. And then there it is, the duty free shop. I have been waiting for this moment because I have been wanting to buy a bottle of XO. Haha. It is still unaffordable and I have been thinking and thinking and finally get a VSOP instead. Hmm…. Looks like I gotta try my luck next time. We have absolutely no problem in looking for the luggage and went home after a few photo shot at the Changi Airport.

So there it ended, our 5 days of holiday alone in Australia. It is a really beautiful country that I wanted to make it as my retirement home. Haha.

Adelaide 2011 Day 4 Cleland, Strawberry farm

Day 4

This is the day where we both have been waiting for so long. . . . STRAWBERRY~! It is the last day for the attraction as we will be returning home tomorrow.

We are so going to pick our own strawberry, and in Adelaide, there is only one place where we can pick our own strawberry from the famous strawberry farm called Beerenberg. If anyone have been opbservant enough, yup, Beerenberg can be seen in supermarket as strawberry jam. Before that, We also going to visit the kangaroo in Cleland Wildlife park. Yup yup.

Macdonald

Yup, we are so going for the Macdonald again for our breakfast. This time, it is much earlier because we need to board a bus that arrives in the city around 0845. It is only bus that cannot be missed otherwise we have to wait for another long long time. Before the sun rise, we have started set off to board the bus with the morning crowd into the city where we go to hindley street for Macdonald breakfast. This time, we are having Hot cakes and NYC Bagel. Yummy. We do not have NYC Bagel back home so might as well try it. We walked a long alley that leads to another side of the road.

Bound for crafer park

When we reached the bus stop, we are still early so sit down and wait for a while. The bus ride will bring us to a transfer stop, where we have to drop down and wait for another bus that brings us up to the lofty hill. The bus is a really long ride because the place is far luckily, the bus fare are a fixed and all thanks to Adelaide Metro, we have got a All day bus ticket so we can take unlimited bus ride for the whole day. When we reached the transfer stop at Crafer stop 24, we got out and wait for the only bus 823 that operates up the hill.

At the bus stop, we met a friend from Singapore too. Her name’s Lily. She is travelling alone so we tag along. Her main place is mount lofty. And I explained to her that the mount lofty is just a big space and invites her to go with us to Cleland wildlife after mount lofty. And when the bus came, the bus driver agrees to stop at mount lofty for a 15 minutes break and then goes to Cleland Wildlife. As soon as the bus stops, we dropped down and went to take alook of the Adelaide which mount Lofty offers and it makes Adelaide looks like a small square. And after that, we rush back to the bus and the bus driver is waiting for another family to return back to the bus. Well, he have loads of time to spare so no worry about waiting for that family.

Cleland Wildlife Park

We reached the Cleland Park and as clearly as I remembered, nothing seems to changed. First we went to the koala area and hand some photo taken. Also later went to visit Dingo. Yup. Looks like a doggie and also behave like a wolf. We walk around the park and walk towards the kangaroo. Yup. I have some feeds around, so darling, lily and I started feeding the kangaroos. The kangaroos are friendly and nibbles the feed out of our hands.

After half day is gone, we went out of the Cleland and board the bus back down to crafer. The friendly bus driver speaks about the Australian life and he is an Italian. Wow, He have been living for more than 10 years and is quite happily living there. He gave us advise on the bus stop where we have to drop off and wait for the bus that brings us to the Strawberry farm. This is where we and lily separates.

We go back to the same stop where we dropped off, and waits patiently for the bus that brings us to the strawberry farm. It is a long ride and darling doze off probably very tired because of feeding the kangaroo and walking. It is a hot day today, and the german town just whizz us by. And then, doom. The Zorro restaurant is no where found. It is taken over by a pizza place. Awww…… When we dropped off, we head to the strawberry farm and get an ice cream. As it is a weekday, Darling and I seems to be the only person there picking the strawberries. Yum yum. The strawberry ice cream is so much delicious than the one in Cameron Highland. It is called Berryberg Swirl ice cream with strawberry pieces withstrawberry ice cream. We picked one whole box of it and get some strawberry jam too. Also some garlic and tartar sauce. Yummy. We took the bus straight to Adelaide city and well, de dropped off a few stop earlier so have to walk a long long wait to Victoria Square. And at Victoria square, there is the famous fountain with the statue of Queen Victoria.

Seafood~!

After taking a few picture there, we head to the Central Market. Aww… it is quite late and lots of markets are closed. I went to the market because I have strong craving for the Austrlia’s famous Black lip mussel. Yup. I just simple loves black lips mussel because of the sweet juicy taste. There are green mussels too but it is easily found so I choose the black lipped mussels. And other than that, there is also squid head. Yum yum. And then the main item: Suckle oysters. Yum yum. As we are out of cash, We went out quickly to find any ATM to get cash. When we found one, we quickly get some money out and went back to get the seafood for the night. So glad darling loves my cooking. Else we are eating out. We made a mistake to stop by a Chinese food shop for the dumplings. Awww….. but we are simply too hungry cos for lunch we had only strawberry. I was thinking of how the dumpling taste like too so we have a try and finds it not suit to our taste. Along the way, I brought darling to one place which is very interesting and not available in Singapore. An outdoor toilet. Yup. I brought her to the place nearby where there is this toilet that cleans automatically, and at a push of the button, a toilet seat comes out and it is free~!.

Victoria Square back home

After that, we walked to the Victoria square where there will be a bus that brings us back to the apartment. Yup. And after a short change, I quickly went on to cook the delicious mussels, squid and the strawberry. It is like heaven with the dessert wine too.

It is an exciting day and night and I just hope time stop at there. Tomorrow we will be flying home……And it is just the right time as we are out of cash too. Woops.

Adelaide 2011 Day 3 Mac, Graduation

Day 3

Yup. This is the main objective of the Adelaide trip. A chance to attend the graduation ceremony for my degree in Adelaide. I was studying for almost 3 years and got a sudden notice to go to the graduation in March 28. So we got up early, and iron that shirt of mine. As we walk pass a house for sale, I really have such a temptation to get a house here. Probably next time when I retire, I might think of getting a house here and retire.

Macdonald at Hindley Street

As usual, it is a long wait for the bus but at least we have a cheap ride to town. Darling wanted to eat the Adelaide MacDonald. Yup. We set off early in the morning on empty stomach and along the way, we noticed a fire truck parking on the road. This is the first time we see the fire truck so quickly we stopped for a photo shot and then take a photo. We found a McDonald at Hindley street, and it is a busy day for the Mac as there are a lot of people going for their lunch. Get darling a happy mealwith a toy. She gets a limited addition star shaped fish. It is really yummy and then we noted there is a star without a “leg” Aww….

After the meal We went to her regional office where she met justin, a colleague who is based in Adelaide and took a few shot with him. And lastly, we set off to the Adelaide Festival Center. It is something like the Singapore Indoor Stadium, and we are really early. Well. I prefer to reach early and then register for the event soon. And then, as quickly as it happens, the crowd came from nowhere and starts queuing. Wow. The event took a very long time, because it is the first time I saw a lot of people also graduation from the university. Hmm… most of the people I have never met before. And it is only here I realized there are many campus for the University.

After I got my cert, We went around for a few Photo taking around the place because there is an hour allowance after the event for us to do some photo taking.

Haigh Chocolate!

After returning the robe, we went out to buy the haigh chocolate. Yup. Haigh Chocolate is the most famous chocolate in Adelaide. It is sweet and tasty. Yum yum. As easter is around the corner, they have quite a lot of chocolate egg shell and chocolate rabbit. Looks real Cute. I though of visiting the factory but never seems to made it. So we got some Toffler, and it is super awesome. We walked to Hudson coffee. For them, Hudson coffee is like the starbuck coffee. There are a lot of Hudson coffee around. As we sees the Hudson chocolate seems tempting, we tried and it is great chocolate taste.

Went to take a bus back, and we stopped by BWS, which stands for Beer, Wine, Spirits. It have a lot of alcoholic drinks and we looks for the dessert wine and it is real cheap for them. Wines seems cheaper than the Coke here.

Turkey and Lamb Chop

Dinner of today, Turkey leg~! Yum yum. And well, there is no oven which I thought they have, we tried to cook it panfried. And then, Found it is hard to pan fried because the frying pan is too small, so we try to deep fried it. Aww…. Not enough oil, but we try to cook it. It is a real long time cooking it. When it is done, the Turkey leg is really nice with the lamb chop. Yum Yum.

Adelaide 2011 Day 2 Victoria Harbour, Grenelg Beach, Oyster Shop

Port Adelaide

Second day, it is a Sunday. On every Sunday, only one market is open on Sunday and closed on the rest of the day. Sunday market in Port Adelaide.

When I was here 2 years ago, The fisherman’s market was closed, so I did not get to see how it looks like. This time round, I am going to see how it looks like.

Early morning, it is home cooked breakfast. The Garlic bread from yesterday’s lunch in Mawson Lake, and some eggs. After leaving Bokku at home, we start on our way. Before we leave, we took a picture around the Picadilly and it was a quiet morning with cool breeze and shady sun.

As we went to the street, I noted a hotel called Royal Oak Hotel just outside the road. It serves breakfast only on Saturday and Sunday. So since it is a Sunday, we decided to check it out and have a big breakfast there. The breakfast is classic breakfast, comes with some mushroom, hashbrown, garlic bread, bacon, sausages, tomato and one of the thing that I get it for darling which she never eat before: Poached Egg.

The poached egg is the most difficult egg to make, and she have never ate before. It is hard outside, runny yolk on the inside. Darling was so happy eating it. And of course, I love it too. It is really better than the other restaurant that I ate before. This bar serves not only serves Breakfast, it also serves beers and wine. It is quite crowded with people marrying around on the Sunday morning. Everyone is happy in this place.

Rundle Mall

After the hearty breakfast, We went to take a bus and goes into the city. It is really a long long wait. We went to the rundle mall, to walk all the way straight and because I need to check on the data access for the sim card that I bought. We took some pictures with the brass looking piggies that is so cute around the place. And also we went to take a look at some of the flowers. Walking straight, we saw a real huge scenery that overlook the residential area. It is huge.

Later, we went to the rundle mall tram station and while waiting for the tram, I suddenly realized that I am suppose to take a train instead of the tram. Cos We are suppose to go to Port Adelaide. Haha, my leg really almost folled me to go to the beach. I only realized it when the tram arrived. Haha. We went straight to the Adelaide Railway Station. This is the heart of the railway lines where it connects everywhere in Adelaide. We wait for the train that goes to port Adelaide. In the train, we met some guys who are going to the port Adelaide too. And they are from other capital such a Melbourne, and antoher place which I din know where. Although we met on the train, but we never go the same way, cos we went in another direction. Along the way, I saw it. A standalone KFC restaurant. Wow, I loves KFC, but we are not here to eat this. We are so going to port Adelaide. Along the way, we also passes through the cheesecake shop. It is called The Cheesecake Shop: Made with love. I loves strawberry cheesecake but we did not buy it because it is really huge size and we have to buy either whole or half. They dun sell in slice, only the original cheese cake is sold in slice. After taking a look, we continued along and passes a shop with a pony. Aww… it is so huge, I dunno how to get it back even if I do buy it. So we continues and passes the town hall, a statue laided by R.H.Smith, mayor of Port Adelaide on 8th November 1918.

Port Adelaide

After walking for a long distance, we finally reached. Port Adelaide. We see the seagulls for the first time since we got here. They walk around looking for food. Darling went with me to the light tower which the port Adelaide is famous for. We climbed the tall and narrow staircase, and on top, it is the view of Port Adelaide. Took lots of photo with darling and none other than Mr Xiao Lao Shu.

After the lighthouse, we went to the Fishermen’s wharves. This is like the Singapore’s version of “bail u tan” except that their do not put the merchandise on the floor. Instead, they put it on the table and some are hung up like the Mr banana. Yeah. We stop by a museum which is very classic, showing the old history of Australia. Many jewellaries and tea set of the old Australia. We took a picture with one of the volunteer of the Woodville Historical Society and wrote a note in the guest book.

After the walk, darling went to get the mini donuts. Yum yum. And on top of it, it is a hot chocolate. Double yum yum. While we eats, a ship docks and people who boarded the ship earlier to went out to see the dolphins step out and walking away from the Prt Adelaide. After the mini donut, we went to board the train back. Along the way, I realize that there is not many soil around, but some old wood pieces. And among the wood piece, there are flowers surviving. Guess perhaps that is why there are not many dust flying around.

We saw the teletubies, Railway museum, And then the Cheesecake shop. We got a cheesecake from cheesecake shop and then get a sweet potato fries from KFC. Yup sweet potato fries. It is something that never seen before. Quite full after eating it. Later we went to board the train back to the railway station. While waiting for the train, we take some photos. And on the way back, I hope the sun doesn’t set down too fast. Went to grab the tram and go to the place that I wanted to go for many years: Grenelg beach. Yup. It is a nice beach with a beautiful seaside. Get to see the sun set as what I wishes many years ago. Yup The sun sets slowly and as the sun set in the horizon, time seems to fly slow, and I later went to get something that I did not managed to bring back. I got a bigger bottle. Woohoo. And fill up the bottle with the seawater and sand from the beach. Haha. Been wanting to do it for a long time. Darling want to drink it as well.

Oyster shop

Yup., the main event of the day. It is none other than the Oyster shop. They are having the promotion of A$15 for a dozen of fresh suckled oysters. This is one of the best oyster shop which is cheap and good. The barramudi fillet is unbelievable. And after the fresh oysters, we get the Kilpatrick which is oysters with bacon and sauce, and fried oysters. Have a wonderful dinner till very full. The barramudi is certainly fresh, juicy and tender so much it is definately panfried to perfection. the meat is not so hard and it is so soft, it just melts in the mouth. Darling loves it a lot too.

After that, we passes by an ice cream shop called Royal Copenhagen. Yup it is like hagen daz and it have a lot of variety of ice cream. What caught our attention is the slogan on the roof. It says:”I scream, You scream, We all scream for Ice Cream!” This is what caught our attention so we went to this ice cream shop although there are a lot of ice cream shops around. It have free toppings and can do our own toppings with chocolate chips, fudge, peanuts. We eat the ice cream while waiting for the tram to arrive.

It is quite late, we still want to go to one place called Adelaide Entertainment center. It is the other end of the line for the grenelg tram.On the tram there is a security on the tram, probably she is around at night tram. We drop off and look at the Adelaide Entertainment Center. It is just like a theatre center but as there is no event on that day, we just stayed and wait for the tram to start. When the tram started, we went back to the Adelaide Railway Center and went back to the apartment for a good night rest. Phew… it was chilly today. Yup. tomorrow, 28th March, is the big day for me......

Adelaide 2011 Day one Mawson Lake

Today is finally the day. The day to Adelaide. I have been waiting for it since 2009 when I first went to Adelaide. I have received the notice of the need to go to Adelaide in the beginning of March 2011. It is a very shot notice but it took me two days to arrange for both accommodation and airline ticket. And with these two done, we are all ready except for the telecommunication and nland transport which have to be arranged in Adelaide.

It is an exciting day waiting for the night flight because I was no longer working. Yup. Rest a lot to get ready for the movies on board the plane. As the saying says, I gonna spend all every last penny of the amount I spend for the air ticket.

Took one whole day to check and re-check the luggage to ensure that nothing is left behind, I take off to board the bus at Woodlands to take the direct bus to the Airport. It is a darn slow and long ride. More than 1 hour to be precise. All because the new route of the bus have changed and it stop at more places. Previously it took me less than 45 minutes to get to airport. And now, it took more than that. I SHOULD HAVE TAKE THE TRAIN~! IT IS MORE CONVENIENT WITH TWO TRANSFER. And it may take the same time. And it is more air conditioned the bus I took is hot and stuffy like the aircon is not switched on.

Airport.

After I reached the airport at 1830, I went straight to the Airport to eat dinner with darling’s parent. Wow. It is as if the whole family come down and I have none.  And since I am not going to have any porky pig there, I get the Bak Gu Teh with the rice. In Adelaide, I am not planning to eat any more porky and rice since I am going to go for the lamb and oysters.

It is only the vacation for me and my darling who will be attending the important event there and also to show her how attractive Adelaide can be. We first want to go into the departure lounge for a look inside the Terminal 3. The main attraction over there is for the butterfly garden that s only available to departure or transit passenger. We went to the butterfly garden and before we went in, as usual we both try to check in to the airport. As it is night time, most of the butterfly do not fly around. Instead, they are resting on the leaves and look at us as we are busy photograph them.
After that, we took the sky train back to terminal 1 where we will take off from there. It is a long walk as the departure lounge for our flight is at the far far end of terminal 1. Our flight is QF82, A Qantas flight. As everyone knows recently news report that there are a lot of problem with Qantas flight, I put in my full confident to the hands of the Qantas flight. This is because I find that Qantas flight is smooth and the flight attendants are friendly and helpful. Even if there is a problem, Qantas is able to give a correct solution with their abundant experience in flight. Looking at the screen right infront, we learnt we are 5,407KM away from Adelaide in the place where we are in now. Mr Xiao Lao Shu as usual, comes with us.

Unknown to darling, we have a mysterious person coming with us too. Hope I dun have to open my luggage in Adelaide. For the supper, We are having fried fish pasta, salad and some wine. Watched some show on the flight and they are quite new and there sure is a lot of video to watch. It is a 6 hours flight and we have some bun fruits and orange juice for breakfast. Darling fall asleep halfway probably because of work in the day time. We manage to see a bit of the sun rise but the angle is not right for the full view of the sun. And when the sun is up, we can see a lot of cloud looks like marshmallow. Looks yummy. And then after it dropped out of the cloud, we can see it, Adelaide.

The beautiful little town of Adelaide with low houses and clustered housing. We got through the checkpoint and out to the airport. Finally, we touched Adelaide. As usual, Adelaide never seems to have changed since the last time I see it. We went straight to the bus stop to wait for the bus that will bring us to the city. It is J1 and J1A in case you wanna know what bus number it is. “Metro info station” is a must stop to establish land transport. We took the bus with the bus ticket we bought on bus. It is A$9.60. We have a long wait for the bus but eventually it arrives and it is a really cheap alternative than taking a cab. Darling is busy looking around during the journey and as mentioned, Adelaide is a place with their air-conditional switched on and the off button fail to off it.

We went straight to Metro Info Station to purchase the bus ticket for the rest of the journey. Then went to rundle mall, to get a local sim card. We passed by Haigh Chocolate, which is very famous for their chocolate. Yum yum. I just can’t wait to get it but I can only buy it on the last day with the spare change that I have. Looks so yummy. Went all around and found a shop that sells the international Calling card. Asked for a few type of card, but they dun sell it. Finally, he has the “Green Card” The card that is quite cheap too. The guy who sells me the card said I must have done a lot or research to get the card and even ask me why I choose it. Well, Thank GOD for the internet. It took me whole day to find out a lot before going to Adelaide.
We took a few photos at the rundle mall, and even though the flowers are common to them, but to us, it looks really special. Finally, the last puzzle has been fitted. A stop to the phone shop where we get a prepaid phone card. Getting a prepaid phone card is a must so that we can pay their local phone rate instead of our home telco roaming services. With the Prepaid phone card and the international calling card, we can call back home anytime we want.

We went to take the bus and go to the accommodation. As we are suppose to check in at around 8AM, but due to the fun of walking around, we almost lost track of the time. Luckily the bus route has not changed for the past two years, we get to North Adelaide with the bus 222, 226 , 224 or 228. Same as G10 and G11 is able to bring us to go to the hotel in North Adelaide. The hotel is exactly not a hotel but an apartment. A fully studio apartment where we can cook and have a peaceful time. The place is called Picadilly Apartment at Gover. I chooses this is because it is near to the city, close to eateries, self-serviced and the best part is it is cheap. In fact, I believe it is the cheapest apartment we can find in Adelaide that comes with it’s own bathroom and cooking facility. I need the cooking facility so that I can coos some of the local seafood products, such as black lip mussels. I loves black lip mussels and because it is Australia, Black Lip mussels is simply very cheap at A$5.99 per kilogram.

We seem to be early because the room is not ready when we got there. However, the person in charge is of great help by allowing us to put our luggage inside first while the housekeeper cleans the room instead of letting us wait outside. As I look around, I noticed there is no heater. I talked to Jimmy, who humbly helps to look for a heater for us because the air-conditioner is not heat supported. Lucky me.

Then the first task, I went with Darling out to the bus stop and we takes the bus to faraway place to Mawson Lake. This is a very bad move, because throughout the journey, we are both sleepy and both of us fall asleep on the bus. Then we woke up and realized we have missed the transfer stop. Awww…. We walked a long way back and then wait for the next bus that will bring us to the place where she wanted to see. When the bus came, we board it and I am really very tired. We reached the place, University of South Australia. Yup. The main university in Adelaide.

We have a walk around and also see some the University surrounding. This is the University that I came for study two years back. And new buildings are seen which is different. The Mawson lake is really very beautiful. I am so happy to be there and if I get a place there, I would be happier. Mawson Lake is like a self-sustain town with it’s own supermarket and food stuff, hair dressing and dining. It even have it’s own small casino.

We stop by the Woolworth, the Australia supermart which sells practical everything. I ran immediately to one food that is not available anywhere in Singapore and one that I crave for it for a long time: TURKEY DRUMSTICK~! I found it and immediately snatch it off the shelf. And then the next will be LAMB CHOP~!! And lastly, the EGGS. Yum Yum. Then we get cooking oil so that we can have fried egg or boiled egg We have some walk around the University and as it is late evening on Saturday, a lot of people are not there except for some students who are at the computer pool. We stopped by a café and have an early dinner. And best to start with, Live Oysters yum yum. We later get some food but before that, I forgot our meal comes with a free garlic bread. Woof. So much to munch munch.

Later we went for a after-dinner walk to the train station. It is a distant aaway but believe me, once we get to the train station, it will be easier to get back to the city. The bus trip simply took a way long time. We waited at the station for 23 minutes as it is not a regular interval for the train to come. We waited till I fallen asleep. When the train arrives, darling is so exciting to see it come and we took few photos with it. We went in and I showed her how easy it is to buy a ticket even on board because there is a machine that sells the train ticket. The train brought us back to the city to Adelaide Railway station.

Every train in Adelaide stops here and transit from one line to another. While we are walking down the street, we chance upon a wedding couple. I walked up and ask to take a photo with the bride and bridegroom. The friendly couple agrees and we had a photo taken too bad we din get one with the car cos it is a very big wedding car. We walked to the Adelaide Convention Hall, because on Monday, we will be here for the ceremony. So exciting.

When taking a bus back to North Adelaide, I stop at another bus stop where we go for one ice cream. The Cold Rock Ice-Cream. Yup. Eating ice cream in the 15 degree Celsius environment is simply fun. Darling also finds me mad at first eating ice cream on a cold weather, but she loves it later. Cold Rock is also available in Singapore, but the feeling of eating in Adelaide is really different from eating it in Singapore.

When we reached the apartment, we settle down and finds the heater around. As darling went for a bath, I put a mysterious guest secretly in the cupboard. And when she opens the cupboard. She shouted:”Bokku” Yeah. Bokku is here with us too and she hug hug bokku the korea polar bear. And so, it ends our first day in Adelaide.
